First exam: 192 EC-6 Bilingual Generalist: Passing this exam entitles the candidate to begin the job search in school districts in Texas. Bilingual Educators prepares the candidate, either with a classroom or online course to take this test. If the student is out of Houston, TX, he/she must travel to this city to take the official state exam.

Second exam: 190 Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT): Required during the first year as a teacher.

Third exam: Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (P.P.R.): Required to obtain the standard certification; has up to one year after starting to work to take it and pass it.

-7 weeks of online or classroom training lasting 105 hours distributed as follows:
-Preparation for exam: 90 hours EC-6 Bilingual Generalist.
-Test simulation (5 hours).
-Workshop: Job Interviews: Learn how to prepare your resume, cover Letter and steps for a successful job search in the school districts (6 hours).
-Workshop: Lesson Planning: Help new teachers get ready for their first day of class (3 hours).
-Workshop: Classroom Management: Create a classroom management plan using a varieties of strategies (3 hours).
-Workshop: “My First Day of Class”, basic rules of discipline and school routines (3 hours)
Registration to the ACP (Alternative Certification Program) and online preparation course for the PPR that contains the following modules:
-TEKS, TAKS, and Instructional Planning.
-Test Construction and Education Measurement.
-Effective Teaching Strategies and Enhancement of the Classroom Climate.
-Multiple Intelligences and Special Student Populations.
